Councillors of the Parish Council

Chair - Adrienne Nunns:

“…what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8

Adrienne Nunns - Hi, my name is Adrienne Nunns and what I would most like to be known for in my nomination for our Parish Pastoral Council is my commitment to follow God’s call on my life. This has given me six children a home in the Wairarapa and a call to work with “the most at risk” as a Social Worker. I take whatever responsibility the Lord entrusts me with very seriously and hope to only represent His will. This is done by a continuous training of my heart, eyes, ears and mouth with the hope of one day achieving that “it is no longer I that live, but Christ who lives in me...” Galatians 2:20

- Hello, my name is Gerard Penman. I am 42 years of age and married to Sharon. We have five children, our eldest four currently attend Chanel College, with our youngest attending St Patrick's School. I have worked for many years as a Field Engineer in the Broadcast & Telecommunications industry.

My family and I currently live in Masterton and have been part of the St Patrick’s Church Community over the last two years.

If I do have the privilege of being elected onto the Parish Pastoral Council I would do my best to work as part of the team to meet the spiritual, pastoral, liturgical and social needs of our community.

Just as Isaiah responded to The Lord’s “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

I replied, “Here I am. Send me!” [Isaiah 6:8]

Trudi Betschart - Hello, my name is Trudi Betschart. I grew up on a dairy farm in Galatea, Bay of Plenty. After nearly 20 years working as a large-animal veterinarian, I retrained as a counsellor and now am self-employed working in the Wairarapa.

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face towards you and give you peace.” [Numbers 6: 24-26]

– My name is Jane Bourke. I am a Catholic high school teacher and have been for over a decade. I arrived in the Catholic Parish of the Wairarapa at the beginning of 2016, when my husband and I purchased a house here. Prior to being in the Wairarapa I lived in the Our Lady of Hope parish in Tawa/Titahi Bay. I was on the Parish Pastoral Council of Our Lady of Fatima for three years, until and through the merge, with St Pius forming the new Parish.

I have a postgraduate qualification in Catholic Theology and am a planning team member for the Catholic Young Adult Summer School - Hearts Aflame.

I hope I can bring big faith, knowledge and experience to service the Wairarapa community.
