Current research:
Metabarcoding and diversification of leaf litter arthropods in the High Appalachians
Past research:
My past work mostly focuses on the beetle (Coleoptera) family Elateridae, commonly called click-beetles. Within Elateridae, I have focused mostly on the subfamily Dendrometrinae. My work has included associating adult and larval elaterids within Agro-ecosystems using DNA data, and revising genera utilizing morphological and molecular data. My overarching goals are to understand evolutionary trends with Elateridae, form global generic concepts within the family, and to uncover morphological characters to make our understanding of this common, but understudied, family more accessible.
