Dr. Catarina Marvão is an Assistant Professor at University College Dublin's College of Business and a Research Fellow at the Stockholm School of Economics (SITE). She holds a Ph.D. from Trinity College Dublin and Johns Hopkins University (2013).
Her research focuses on behavioral industrial organization and finance, with applications in antitrust and banking regulation. Catarina’s work examines topics such as cartel recidivism, damages, banking misconduct, and executive incentives. Her research has been published in leading journals, including the Journal of Accounting and Economics (ABS 4*), International Journal of Industrial Organization, and The Journal of Legal Studies.
She is a funded investigator with the Swedish Competition Authority, Enterprise Ireland, the Marcus and Marianne Wallenberg Foundation, and the Wenner-Gren Foundation. In addition to her academic roles, Catarina serves as Non-Governmental Advisor to Ireland’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) and is a Research Affiliate at the Central Bank of Ireland.
