Conveniently situated between the cosmopoliton cities of Valencia (110 km) and Allicante (85 km), the small and cosy village of Gata de Gorgos is the perfect choice for family holidays.
The town is part of the Marina Alta region in the Alicante province. Gata de Gorgos is situated at 75 m above sealevel and is (partly) named after the river Gorgos (or Rio Jalón) which crosses the village and debouches into the Mediterranian close to Jávea. The 6.270 inhabitants are calles gateraros/as or gatense.
Supermarkets, convenience stores, banks, bars & restaurants and pharmacies are closeby. However, a car is necessary.
An extensive range of sport and leisure facilities are available in the area, including trekking, walking and cycling trails, two 18-hole golf courses, horse riding, fun quad excursions, boat trips, tennis clubs, sports centres and the "Terra Mítica" amusement waterpark (Benidorm - 40 km).
