Happy Thanksgiving! The other day I was walking in Petsmart (yes, that what I do with free time. You're on this site too; don't judge me) and found
this neat product called a betta leaf hammock. It was only three dollars and so I thought it'd be a worthwhile buy to see if my males liked it. The smooth leaf is made out of a plastic-like material but is very smooth; it connects into a suction cup which you put about an inch below the the surface of a tank or bowl. You have to put it on a flat side of the bowl for it to stick. The first few days that I used it in Cerulean's bowl, the leaf kept falling off of the suction cup. When I cleaned his bowl I really jammed it into the suction cup and it hasn't budged since. I find that Cerulean doesn't lay on top of it quite as much as the fish in the picture do but hovers above it. I need to see how my other fish treat it sometime. But it's a cute little addition to the betta bowl whether Mr. Betta uses it or not so I think it's a good buy if you're looking for a unique tank ornament. It's a great way for them to relax and be close to the surface to breathe.
