What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis can be described as a very pleasant state of relaxation which   people allow themselves to enter. As  this occurs there is an altered state of conscious awareness, (often called trance), which occurs somewhere between sleep and full consciousness. Contemporary scientific studies show that this is very natural, and that the ability to go into hypnosis is a normal part of human behaviour.

Why Counselling?

The aim of counselling is to provide an opportunity for the client to work towards living in a more satisfying and resourceful way. The right of the client to make his or her own decisions is respected.

Combined with hypnosis and NLP, this creates a highly effective method of helping people to improve and enhance their lives.

What is N.L.P?

NLP explores the relationship between

how we think (Neuro), how we communicate ( Linguistic), and our

patterns of behaviour and emotion (Programmes). With the use of various techniques and exercises, NLP provides new insights and skills in order to

change, alter or enhance patterns that

are no longer effective.

Can I be hypnotised?

Most people are able to enter a hypnotic state, but you need to be willing to cooperate in order to achieve the maximum benefits.

Are there any dangers?

None at all. Hypnosis is a positive state

and any side effects will only be beneficial. It is impossible not to come out of a hypnotic state; you will always wake up naturally.

How does hypnosis feel?

Most people find hypnosis very pleasant and relaxing. Your body and mind relax but you are not asleep and can remain aware of what is going on around you. You are always in control and are able to return to full awareness whenever you choose, but you may feel too comfortable and relaxed to do so.

Different people have different experiences of trance and depth of hypnosis ranges from very shallow to very deep. Some clients are surprised at how normal and natural it seems; they may wonder if they were hypnotised, but therapy can be effective regardless of the

level of trance.
