Welcome to the Carmel Hotel
Located in the Old City of Safed, Israel, the Carmel Hotel is your home away from home. Owned and managed by Shlomo Zaid, the twelve-room Carmel Hotel is clean, comfortable, charming, and centrally located. Shlomo's family has lived in Safed for over two centuries and he has owned the hotel for more than four decades. He will regale you with stories of the town in his delightful English. He lives on the premises and takes wonderful care of the facilities. Built in the 1920s, the building has been a hotel since the days of the British Mandate. It has tall ceilings and all kinds of elegant fittings and fixtures.
This website has been prepared by a satisfied guest because, even though the hotel has WiFi, Shlomo isn't interest in the Internet. He's an old-time Israeli in the best sense of the term. Father of four and grandfather, he keeps the hotel stocked with clean towels and sheets, water, and coffee, and easy-going charm. The Carmel Hotel is frum-friendly, ie. very accommodating to Shomer Shabbos guests but certainly open to all kinds of visitors. When I offered to create a web page for him, Shlomo thanked me for the "big mitzvah" and added "Please don't say anything that's untrue. Don't tell them we have a Jacuzzi in every room or anything like that."
To reserve a room or ask any questions about the hotel please call: (972) 4-692-0053 [972 is the country code for Israel, 4 is the city code, so from the USA call 011-972-4-692-0053]. From Israel call 04-692-0053.
