LEVEL 1 watercolour

this is a TRUE beginner class. For those who have never used ANY art mediumor those new to watercolour. We are all there to discover the ways we can use the characteristics of this medium to make beautiful paitings. This is a full 2 days to acquire the skills needed to harness the thee factors that you need to allow the magic of watercolour to shine through. We will be working on simple designs and projects to achieve this. We will focus on the three factors of water, paint and paper. This is a skills class so meant to be fun and an enjoyable way to start with watercolour.

LEVEL 2 Watercolour .

This is a continuation of Level 1 and intended for those who may have 'tried' watercolour or haven't painted with it for some time and brush up on techniques. It is still considered a beginner class. I always encourage painting on smaller pieces so we can practice our techniques and develop quicker. These classes rely heavily on wet into wet techniques. We also focus on Edge management, value control, highlights and shadows and dealing with water control. this is always meant to be a fun class

ARTful JORNALS.

This is a one day class to explore the art of keeping a journal using sketches, words, images to capture an interest ... travel, gardening, food. whatever you want. Weather permitting we will go out to try an onsite experience the next half day. ARTful Journals are a visual journal that captures experiences and memories important to you i YOUR story. you choose what to focus on. It is a combination and merging of works, images, experiences and art on a page. How you combine them and what you use to create those marks on the page is endless possibilities and up to you. I will be using simple watercolour supplies and journals. We will explore lots of ideas to enhance your pages, create the memorie, record your everyday life or that trip of a lifetime. I have been creating these for years and will bring mine so you can get some ideas. you need not be an artist or competent at watercoour to do these. we will explore how to set up the pages, cool lettering to enhance your page, collage ideas, simple sketching ideas and ways toapture your memories. You need good paper, 140lb is best and loose papers rather than a sketchbook for us to develop some ideas and skills.
