The Anglican Orthodox Church was established in Mobile, Alabama on November 16, 1963 by the Most Reverend Dr. James Parker Dees. Bishop Dees and many others saw that The Episcopal Church was rapidly turning its back on its foundations. They wished to preserve the doctrine and traditions of Anglicanism as held by the historic Church:
• The Biblical Faith
• The 1928 Book of Common Prayer
• The Thirty-nine Articles of Religion
• The Homilies
• The Doctrines of the Anglican Reformers
• Biblical Morality
With these as their foundation, those first congregations grew into a worldwide communion under the auspices of the A. O. C. now headquartered in Statesville, North Carolina. The current Presiding Bishop is The Most Rev. Jerry L. Ogles, D.D.
With God’s help we seek to focus our worship on God as He commanded and preach the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible makes it plain that, due to our sinful nature, we cannot turn to God by our own choosing, but by the grace of God alone through faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ. "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6.
