Village Hall Update

The work on the village hall extension was delayed by the discovery of rotten roof timbers, which had to be removed, and new conditions imposed by Building Inspectors. We're grateful for the help of Norton Parish Council in moving things forward.

The roof has now been completed and internal work is progressing. We thank our hirers for their continued support over the summer and hope that work will be

finished soon so we can all enjoy the improved facilities.

Campsall Village Hall kitchen extension

A ninety-year-old building can hide many secrets, as was the case at Campsall Village Hall when a digger unearthed an old tarmac roadway while excavatingthe footings for the new kitchen extension.Unexpected oddities and angles, such as might be expected in a hall that’s been extended and knocked about a lot over the best part of a century, have meant one or two discussions with council inspectors and some slight delays.

The hall will benefit from a large modern kitchen(which will double as an occasional bar), as well as improved toilet facilities and a roomier lounge when the work is complete. The project is 80% funded by Veolia Environmental Trust.

Work is now progressing well. The contractors are doing their best not to interfere with the normal operation of the hall, although some noise and dust are inevitable.

The committee would like to thank our regular hirers for their support and interest in the project and for bearing with us during the upheaval.

***** Great News *****

CVH management committee have been awarded £26,640 by the Veolia Environmental Trust through the Landfills Communities Fund.

This funding is to be used to enlarge the kitchen, lounge, ladies toilet and baby changing areas, and provide more storage space.

Howdens Kitchens will be donating kitchen furnishing and equipment.

Work will be starting on 3rd April.
