I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at University of Calgary. I hold a PhD in Economics from the Institute for International Economic Studies (IIES). I am also affiliated to the Dondena Gender Inititative, Bocconi University.
My research interests are in Political Economy, Environmental Economics and Gender EconomicsI study empirically the determinants of two outcomes that I deeply care about: the quality of the environment in which we live, and the inclusion of women in modern societies. In studying the determinants of the quality of the environment, I focus on the role of media scrutiny in holding corporations accountable for their environmental standards.
My research agenda in gender economics studies the determinants of women's employment and participation to politics, and of gender attitudes.
