Mitch Charles

BIO

Charles A. Mitchell has worked in the Communications and Telecommunications field for over 20 years.

He started his professional journey back in 1987 when he studied Radio Broadcasting at The National Schools where he earned an Associate's Degree as a Radio and Television Broadcasting Technician. He worked for WCTX in Palmyra, Pa., as well as worked for Comcast Cable for 17 years. When Charles came to Shippensburg University in January of 2010, he made the most of the opportunity that presented itself to him. He wore several “hats” at their radio station, 88.7 FM WSYC-Shippensburg University; not only was he the Program Director and the Production Manager, he was the creator and host of his radio show, “The Love Ship”; which he aired on both 88.7FM Shippensburg University and the internet radio station: SSASSY RADIO. Charles has worked in other facets of the industry too; everything from doing voice overs and video/audio editing, to being a digital photographer and journalist who has interviewed musical icons George Benson, Commodores, Najee, William Hart of the Delfonics, Jason Derulo and recently Will Downing. Even though radio, is his first love, Charles has experience in other areas of Media as well. While at Shippensburg, Charles was a Staff Writer for Shippensburg University's newspaper, The Slate, where he was responsible for writing weekly articles for their Arts & Entertainment section, along with some special interest stories too. Charles also worked with Shippensburg University's TV station, SUTV where he directed all Sporting and Entertainment Events that were on campus through Comcast Access Channel. As you can see, Charles is multifaceted in the Communications/ Journalism industry and is well respected by his colleagues. Charles completed his studies at Shippensburg University, obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Communication/Journalism in August 2013. Currently manages and programs The Loveship Radio Network independently.
