Why Ultreia app?

When I was walking down my way to Santiago, I faced a "couple of issues" related to lodging.

What to do when the albergue is full? Should I keep walking to next town? How far is it? Is there an albergue there? Can I phone them to know if it's full?

That's why, as pilgrim and Android developer, I came up with Ultreia!

A few things I've considered when coding Ultreia:

1.- Except for the larger towns, there's a very bad signal for internet connection

2.- The use (or abuse) of the GPS and the eye-candy graphics in some apps I downloaded are battery killers.

3.- There is not always an available plug for our smartphones.

3.- The Camino is perfectly marked, there's no need , imho, of following a GPS track. Just follow the yellow arrow. That's it. But in case you get lost you can use de app for that and get on track again.

So, with that in mind, I coded Ultreia to be fast and to do a low use of battery.

Hope you enjoy the Camino.

Buen camino! Ultreia!
