Children’s Karate

Karate is a great way for kids to build self confidence and get fit, while learning valuable self-defense skills. Kids learn the skills that will allow them to become proficient not only in the martial arts, but also in academic and social pursuits as well. The values of goal setting, focus, effort, perseverance, and integrity are all emphasized in our classes.

Students are also taught safety awareness and practical solutions for dealing with ‘bully’ behaviors. They learn to stand up for themselves and maintain self-control.

Our class is independently operated, which means that the students do not need to attend any other locations to attend classes or receive their belt promotions. We teach a style of karate called Isshin Ryu, which is an eclectic style that emphasizes natural body movements and stances.

Students earn belt promotions and are invited to participate in demonstrations and seminars through our class.

Karate is a fun way for children to learn valuable life skills. We hope to see you soon!

(Please note that there is a 20 student limit per class. Register early to avoid being placed on the waiting list.)

-An important message for all families enrolled in our classes:

My Sensei, Grandmaster Chris Thomas often posts 'Reflections' on the various aspects of martial training.

In this video, he and Master Instructor Chris Martingelio discuss the ways families and karate instructors can work together to ensure that our kids do not misuse the skills learned in class. We want our students to be able to defend themselves in a life threatening situation but must also require them to use sound judgement before using their skills.

Most of all, our kids need to know that they have the support of their parents and instructor if they ever have to defend themselves.

Karate isn't about fighting with others but instead learning how to conquer your own fear, anger, and self-doubt.
