I am a microbiologist studying single-celled fungi that cause disease in humans, also known as fungal pathogens. I completed my PhD in the Molecular Genetics and Microbiology (MGM) program at Duke University working in the Alspaugh laboratory, where I studied the human fungal pathogen Cryptococcus neoformans. I am interested in understanding fungal pathogens from a genetic perspective by interrogating fungal genes that contribute to disease in the human host.
