A bilingual (Mandarin-English) social worker and PhD student at NYU Silver School of Social Work, Fan has spent the past five years providing individual and family psychotherapy to immigrant children, adolescents, and their families in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. His research focuses on improving and implementing family-based interventions to address trauma in underserved racial and ethnic minority communities.
Born and raised in China, Fan earned his Master of Social Work from NYU Silver School of Social Work and completed postgraduate training in the Trauma-Informed Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Program at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP).
