Want to see what the Cadet Expedition Program looks like

A fun, and exciting youth organization challenging young boys & girls between the ages of 12-18.

Welcome to the website of 2525 The Ontario Regiment Royal Canadian (Army) Cadet Corps

2525 The Ontario Regiment Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps is a youth organization part of the Canadian Cadet Program for people between 12 and 18 years of age. Unlike other youth groups, there are no fees associated with membership.

The aim of the Cadet Program is to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership, promote physical fitness and stimulate the interest of youth in sea, land and air activities of the Canadian Forces.

Overall, the mission of the Cadet Program is to contribute to the development and preparation of youth for the transition to adulthood—through a dynamic, community-based program.

Additionally, the vision of the Cadet Program is to offer the program of choice for Canada’s youth, in order to prepare them to become the leaders of tomorrow through a set of fun, challenging, well-organized and safe activities.

Cadets are encouraged to become active, responsible members of their communities. The Cadet Program helps its members develop self-confidence and self-esteem. The organization also promotes teamwork environment. Other benefits may include high school credits, scholarships, and training in public speaking.

It is important to note that army cadets are not members of the Canadian Forces. Cadets are taught, however, by Cadet Instructor Cadre Officers, part-time primary reserves officers of the Canadian Armed Forces specializing in coaching and mentoring youth to become leaders and better citizens of tomorrow.

The staff and cadets from the unit meet every Monday evening at the Pickering High School. Throughout this website, you will be able to learn more about the activities that the cadet corps has to offer young people interested in joining.

The unit is proud to be affiliated with The Ontario Regiment, which is an armoured reconnaissance regiment in Oshawa, Ont. The cadet corps is sponsored by the Pickering and Ajax Legion.
