The Royal Canadian Army Cadets appeal to teenagers craving exciting outdoor activities where their personal limits as individuals and team-members will be tested. The outdoor-oriented youth members will love the challenge!

Our corps, 2525 Ontario Regiment of Canada Army Cadet Corps is part of the cadet organization, which is a national program for youth between 12 to 18 years of age who want to make new friends while participating in fun and challenging activities.

Overall, the army cadet program promotes teamwork, leadership and citizenship. In addition, it helps youth members to increase their self-confidence and physical fitness.

The 2525 Army Cadet Corps is a Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Durham Region youth organization, which has no membership or trip fees. As an added benefit—we also provide each Durham Region cadet with a uniform at no charge.

Allow us to take a moment to mention briefly in a point form manner just some of the activities that cadets will have an opportunity to participate in. Such activities for our Ajax, Pickering, Whitby youth organization include the following:

- Sports activities

- Introduction to Olympic Marksmanship training

- Canoeing, rafting and swimming

- Map and compass, navigational and trekking activities

- Camping

- Abseiling and repelling

- Summer job or summer exchange program outside of Canada for cadets who have stayed in the program for a number of years

- Mountain biking

- An opportunity to gain community volunteer hours for High School graduation requirement

If you are interested in a challenge, new opportunities and excitement then the army cadet program might be just what you have been seeking!

Visit us on Monday evenings at the Pickering High School at 180 Church Street North, Ajax from 7:15 pm until 9:00 pm to join army cadets or just to find out more information.
