I am doing research in the areas of conversation analysis, membership categorization analysis, sociocultural theory, situated learning theory, second language socialization, etc. In a narrow sense, my research focuses on second language learning as a phenomenon embedded in the context of social action. In a broader sense, I am concerned with human action within the group.
