Andrew has uploaded all the 'official' photos and those taken by Geoff Wickens to Dropbox. Use the Photos, Films & Documents button to go there. Also uploaded is a folder from Lynn Young, and another from Bob Arnold's wife Chris who was to be seen on the day walking around with a slate...or was it an ipad?

A personal message from Andrew
All four of us were stunned at the reactions of all those who arrived yesterday. The thoughts, feelings, reminiscences and vague recollections were pouring out as we mingled and toured, munched and chatted, posed for photos and reflected on the years. How could it be that so much time had gone by and yet it seems like yesterday?
We determined not to let it happen again and so over a drink and a meal afterwards we decided firstly that we would meet again in 5 years. Secondly we will try to contact those whom we could not trace this time and remain in touch with those we have by some means or other...Facebook, email etc. That includes the staff.
That's the first time I have ever seen Mr Stagles with a tear in his eye, so finally, thanks for your contributions to the Black Book...I think it did the trick!
Andrew

ONLY TWO DAYS until we all get together to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of a school that undoubtedly played a major part in forming the cornerstone for our future lives. We started there in 1964 as naive adolescents and, as we progressed through the school, we learned, we played, we made friends, and we matured. Eventually, we popped out at the other end of the education sausage-machine, ready to meet a world awaiting our youth, our energy, our drive. As we reflect on those days we may well wonder......where did all that youth, energy and drive go?
JUST TWO YEARS ago Julie, Phil, Andrew and I found each other on Facebook. Messaging indicated that our sense of humour was intact after all these years and so we decided to meet in May last year. That meeting was a huge success and proved that our personalities were still very much as we remembered them from 45 years ago, although the passage of time had clearly delivered the odd wrinkle or two!
ON SATURDAY I am sure all attendees will turn up at the School with a pang or two of trepidation, a touch of excitement, and perhaps a feeling of walking into the unknown? The joy is in knowing that each and every one of us will be in the same boat!

We are getting some excellent contributions for the book of Bulmershe memoirs - many thanks to those who already have. If you haven't yet contributed, it would be nice if you do! It doesn't matter whether it's two sentences or two pages - we've had these in already and everything in between. What are your memories of Bulmershe, perhaps your first days there? What tickles you when you think back about it? What did you enjoy at school, or what did you hate? What did someone say or do that you'll always remember? We MUST have all contributions no later than 9am BST on Tuesday morning 16th September please. Thank You.

Just 7 days to go until the Reunion. A reminder that the school doors open at 1.30 pm next Saturday and the Official Welcome by current headteacher Emma Reynolds and Ray Stagles is at 2pm prompt so don't be late!
Although the "official" event finishes late afternoon, don't forget you can continue into the evening at Barbara McClune's houseparty - just make sure you let Barbara know in advance you are going. (see below)
Thank you to those of you who have already sent Julie a short piece about your memories of Bulmershe - we need MORE please for the book to be presented to a certain person. Please let Julie have your contribution BEFORE this Tuesday 16th Sept.
Finally, don't forget to keep an eye on our website for all the latest updates and, after the event we will be posting all the Reunion photos there .

If you have not yet bought a ticket, you may still register for one on this site, by filling in the form Just note you will have to pay for, and collect your ticket on the door, so don't worry!
Also, Bulmershe is still behind with the finances but once more, don't worry. If you HAVE paid and not received it you may collect it on the day. No-one will be turned away! :)
9 Sept 2014 - UPDATED - ALL NEEDED BEFORE TUESDAY 16th
URGENT REQUEST - we are producing a book of memories and anecdotes about the Bulmershe School that we all attended. The book will hopefully have contributions from as many of us pupils as possible, and will be presented to a certain figure at the Reunion, as a lasting memento of those early days at Bulmershe.
Could you all please drop Julie a line with your contribution to julesmoir@talktalk.net. As a guide, perhaps around 100 words is fine but no worry if it’s more or less. WE NEED THIS BEFORE TUESDAY 16th PLEASE. Many thanks for your help!

IF you haven't been in touch yet and wish to find out more please email me directly: We have plenty coming already, but the more, the merrier. You can find me on Facebook or copy and paste my email address. Hope to hear that a few more may wish to join the party! (We have 20+ to date).

Just under 2 weeks to go to the BIGGEST and BEST Bulmershe Reunion ever! Currently, we have about 20 teachers and 50 pupils intending attending which is excellent news. There are still one or two "stragglers" who haven't yet bought their ticket - please do this soonest if you wish to attend as payments (and hence tickets) are taking some time to clear through the school's systems (to book go to https://sites.google.com/site/bulmershe50/badges-and-payments . If you have ordered your ticket but haven't yet received this please let Andrew Popkin know by e-mail or Facebook message. Thanks.
4 Sept 2014
Andrew just had an email from Geoff in the Bulmershe office to say they are now up to date with sending out tickets to those from whom payment is received. They still have to go to the bank next week to see who has paid electronically so some will be posted/emailed later. Andrew will ask him if this can be done a quicker way.

Bob receives a reply from Gwyn Arch (music 1965-6) who regrets not being able to come to the reunion but gives us some valuable information about staff. (See Messages from Pupils and Staff, and for the full text of the letter see our Bulmershe First Intake 1964 Facebook group).
3 Sept 2014
We are told that the Bulmershe Finance Office opened this week and those of you awaiting tickets can expect them soon.
30 Aug 2014
The Countdown has started - just 3 weeks to go until the 50th Anniversary Reunion for our year. In 1964, we would all have been enjoying the last few days of our long summer holidays, and perhaps beginning to think with more than a little trepidation what our new school would be like. Who would our friends be? Would we like the teachers? How difficult would the lessons be? How would we get there? Things to ponder upon as we get nearer to the 20th September this year!

Well, today it's exactly a month until the Bulmershe 50th Anniversary Reunion for the Class of 1964. We're now in the final throes of preparation and, if you are intending coming and haven't yet purchased your ticket, we really would appreciate if you can do that soon so that we can start to firm up on numbers for catering purposes. Our Bulmershe 50 website ( https://sites.google.com/site/bulmershe50/home ) lets you purchase your tickets, choose what goes on your name badge, ...see who we still need your help to find, and everything else Reunion! And don't forget to let Barbara Shanks know if you intend joining her "After Hours" house party for the evening of the 20th.
