I started art conservatory work in 1996 as an apprentice under my grandfather, Robert Wendell Bufmeyer; a self-taught artist and conservator. During my apprenticeship, I began restoring antique frames and learning the art of laying gold leaf. While assisting my grandfather with numerous oil painting restorations, we would examine the artwork to determine the best course of action to restore and preserve the painting. His guidance and techniques have been invaluable.
Completed Oil Painting Restorations:
Christ Church in Raleigh selected me to restore 'The Annunciation', a 4'x 6' oil painting displayed in their chapel.
St. Mary's School in Raleigh hired me to restore a 6'x 8' oil painting, 'The Confirmation' as well as several other pieces of art.
Pinehurst Country Club selected me to restore a 4'x 6' oil on canvas portrait of the Pinehurst golf course designer, Donald Ross.
