In this presentation, I will discuss 1) a variety of programming constraints that systems and kernel implementers face, 2) the implications of those constraints on the usage of language techniques in those settings, and 3) I will demonstrate a variety of these constraints by presenting some code that I have written in the Composite component-based operating system.
