NOTE: Scouts who volunteer to become a knot and/or lashing instructor are awarded the coveted Silver Star. Become an instructor by learning all knots and/or lashings and demonstrating that you can tie them from memory consistently and teach other scouts how to tie them.

Demonstrate your knowledge of using a compass by doing all of the following:

Name the parts of a compass.
Demonstrate how to follow a bearing that you are given.
Demonstrate how to get a bearing on an object that you can see.
Demonstrate how to orient a map.
Demonstrate how to use a compass with a map.
Complete the Three-leg Compass Walk.
