December PLC Update

Troop 13,

Thank you to all those who attended the PLC this afternoon! It was a good day of planning and preparation for the months ahead. With that being said, for a successful year, we really need troop participation whether that be attending campouts or for star/life scouts to step up and lead meetings/events. Our troop scribe will be publishing the full schedule of meetings, campouts, and events in the coming days.

Tomorrow's meeting will focus on dressing appropriately for winter events. Duty Rosters, Menu planning, and gear preparation will also occur at the meeting. The Winter campout is scheduled for 12/17/16 - 12/18/16 (Meet at Church 8:00 a.m. Sat./Arrive back on Sunday at noon). If you have not signed up please email Mr. Murphy and the SPL.

After the December break, there will a plethora of opportunities for scouts to rise to the occasion, which includes taking the initiative (Sometimes with Adult help) on High Adventure trips this coming summer, the Rockspot or Sayre Ice climbing trip, and patrol events.

The Yankee Swap is on 12/19/16! This annual tradition is a lot of fun and requires scouts to bring a wrapped, nameless gift ($15) to that meeting. More information will come regarding the rules and proceedings.

The COH (Court of Honor) will be our first meeting back from December break on 1/9/17. The MC's will be needing pictures for our troop slideshow. Please have those ready when they ask for them in a couple weeks time.

Lastly, the meeting on 1/23 will be a visiting day for Webelos 2 Scouts. More information to come as the date approaches, but a planning meeting will occur on 1/22 for preparation.
