Scouts BSA is the traditional Scouting experience for youth in the fifth grade through high school. Service, community engagement, and leadership development become increasingly important parts of the program as youth lead their own activities and work their way toward earning Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout. In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right-now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.

Troop 114 generally meets every other Monday night during the school year at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Ivy, VA (851 Owensville Rd, Charlottesville). If you would like more information about our troop, please email us here.  You may also attend one of our troop meetings to learn more about Scouts BSA, our troop, and our activities.

50 Years!

Troop 114 has reached its 50 year anniversary! 2023 marks the 50 year anniversary for Troop 114. Through the years Troop 114 has been on many fun adventures. We have welcomed many new scouts. And have had many memorable moments.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Troop 114 goes on many exciting trips! Our favorite trips include, whitewater rafting, canoeing, summer camp, and our annual ski trip! We sell Christmas trees outside of great value starting the day after Thanksgiving every year, so be sure to stop by. Check out our recent activities below!

Recent Activities

Elliott's Knob - March

Our 1st class and higher ranked scouts enjoyed a fun trek up to Elliott's Knob. The weather was nice hiking up the mountain, however it was windy at the top. Everyone had a great time looking at the view and sunset from the fire tower at the very top of the mountain. By dinner time, scouts were chomping down on their delicious freeze dried dinner. The scouts were prepared for the night and had a magnificent time on the trip!

Snowshoe Ski Trip - February 2023

We went on our annual ski trip to Snowshoe, West Virginia. Spending most of the day skiing , and some of the day inside watching TV! Nonetheless it was loads of fun!

Caving Trip - January 2023

We went caving with the AOL scouts from Pack 114 and Pack 79. Trekking through the cave was tough work! While it was cold and raining up on the surface, the cave was nice and warm!

Patricia Ann Byrom - November 2022

The troop braved the cold at the Patricia Byrom Reserve. We went on a 3.5 mile hike, and came back to play some football and cook some delicous meals. Everyone had a blast on the hike and simply being out in nature. We ended the night sharing stories by the fire. The troop bravely slept in the windy night, one tent however, flipped over with 3 scouts inside. The morning was filled with hungry scouts.

Canoe Trip - September 2022

Our troop went to the James River in September. Everyone had loads of fun riding the rapids. We spent 1 rainy night there. After canoeing we went to the riverside campsite where we cooked some great food and, partied while tenting next to the river.
