Camping equipment: Consult SM/ASM, Xin Cai/Daman Ding
REI or Amazon is good place for shopping
Before the 1st camp: Scout to have tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping pad
Adult is not sleeping with scout, so adult needs his own gear if camp together.
Recommended Tent: 1 or 2 persons lighter tent for 3 or 4 season
Recommended Sleep bag: 15-25 degree, lighter mummy style
Backpacking bag is not required for the 1st camp, which you can check what other scouts have as your reference.
You can consult SM/ASM on how to choose the camping equipment.
Summer camp: CC
This is the most exciting fun one week camp, and the registration may be 4 months ahead. If you join the troop around spring/summer time, check with CC or AIC for this event. New scout would love this camp.
TLT (Troop Leadership Training): CC/SM
This is a good training/information about how the troop is run, and lean some troop related terminology. We have scout TLT, and adult TLT which is around Nov/Dec as part of New Parent/Scout Orientation.
