New Database on Hours Worked

In Bick, Brüggemann, and Fuchs-Schündeln (2019) we develop a new data set with internationally comparable hours worked and employment rates for 19 countries (the US and 18 European countries) from 1983 to 2016. You can download the data here:

UPDATE (May 2021): The data is now available until 2019 for all countries in our sample. Please note that the time series for the US has changed starting from 2011 due to updates to the tenure distribution (see the README file for more details).

Tax Codes

For Bick, Brüggemann, Fuchs-Schündeln, and Paule-Paludkiewicz (2019), we wrote Matlab programs implementing the statutory labor income tax codes for our sample countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, UK, US) from 1983 to 2016. These Matlab codes can be downloaded here (folder includes detailed documentation):
