Guifeng Wei

Guifeng joined the lab in 2015

Guifeng earned his bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics at Huazhong University of Science & Technology, Wuhan, China. He then joined the lab headed by Prof. Runsheng Chen for this PhD study (Bioinformatics) at the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. For his PhD study, he focused on the noncoding transcriptome in C. elegans and functional long noncoding RNAs in cancer.

Guifeng joined the Brockdorff lab in Oxford as a postdoc in August 2015. He has developed his research interests in chromatin epigenetics and RNA biology, particularly (1) molecular mechanism underlying Xist-mediated chromosome silencing (2) RNA m6A modification and gene regulation (3) regulatory role of variant NuRD complex (PWWP2A/B-MTA-HDAC).
