Adam Cawte

Adam joined the lab in 2019

Adam studied Biochemistry at the University of Leeds and started his PhD in 2014 at the MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences. Adam conducted his research as part of the Single Molecule Imaging Group under the supervision of David Rueda. His PhD was focused on the development of novel fluorogenic RNA imaging approaches for the detection of single molecules in living cells.

With a keen interest in lncRNA biology and novel imaging technologies Adam joined the group in 2019 and has been developing new methodologies to image and map Xist on the X-chromosome with improved resolution. He is driven to define a clearer picture of how Xist spreads and initiates a cascade of gene silencing events.
