Each book is shelved into the most relevant subject and given a call number that corresponds to the subject and shelf location.
[The call number is a short code that expresses the subject and book number e.g. The first book on Primates is Pri 1, the second book on Primates is Pri 2 etc.]
Search the catalogue online here.
Write down the call number and note the collection, or subject. The book will be shelved under this.
Make sure the status is 'Available' and the location is 'Library', so you can be sure the book is here and not on loan to anyone else.
Come to the library and find the subject [noted on the end of the shelves] then locate the book; the books are in numerical order under each subject.
Look at the signage affixed to the ends of the shelves in the library to browse subjects.
