Following our 20/20 merger with Okehampton MPL last season, we now are fielding two sides, across both divisions of the Tamar Evening League. Both teams are now well under way, with the 1XI being captained by Gary Sizmur, and the 2XI under the leadership of James Stevens.
The 1XI had their first game at Lewdown rained off, whilst the 2XI lost a close game at home to Launceston 1XI.
The second round of games saw a convincing 10 wicket win for the 1XI against Lifton. Lifton batted first and were bowled out for just 63 after some fine bowling, particularly by Robbie Sandercock who picked up a 5 wicket haul. Scott Tremain and Gary Sizmur chased down the total without too many issues, to get the 20/20 season off to the best possible start. The 2XI game against Sticklepath was unfortunately abandoned due to a knee injury to Cal Mallett, after we had made a good start in the field thanks to some great bowling by Ruben Forrester.
Next week sees the 1XI travel to South Petherwin, and the 2XI host Lydford.
