Bribie BUG hosts rides every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday morning.
Monday Rides:
Monday Rides leave at 07:00, 07:30 and 08:00 from the Information Centre, 20 mins later at Bribie Bridge, 30 mins later at Bribie Jetty and continue to coffee at Woorim.
Wednesday Rides:
Early Bird rides on Wednesday mornings leave from the Information Centre at 06:30 in winter (April to August) and 06:00 in summer (September to March).
This 20km social ride takes about an hour through the streets of Banksia Beach with the option of coffee afterwards. There is a fast and a slower group per your choice.
Thursday Rides:
There are two different Thursday Rides: an early 40km Ride and a Leisurely Social Ride at 9:00 am.
The start time for the 40km ride varies from 06:30 to 07:00 depending on the day. It follows roads around Bribie Island at a speed of 25km/h with coffee at the RSL afterwards. The ride may start earlier if a special destination is chosen. Participants get in touch with each other by phone and message the day before.
The "Leisurely Social" 75 minute ride is a ride averaging 15km/h for those who prefer to take it easy or who want to try out riding in a group. This ride starts from the picnic area on Solander Esplanade at the end of Sunderland Drive and finishes with coffee at Cafe 191 at the Community Arts Centre on Sunderland Drive.
Saturday Rides:
Rides leave at 07:00, 07:30 and 08:00 from the Information Centre, Benabrow Avenue, Bellara for rides to Banksia Beach or Woorim and from the end of Kalmakuta Drive off Bribie Island Road, Sandstone Point for rides to Sandstone Lakes. If you live on the island, give yourself about 15 minutes extra to walk or drive over the bridge.
About the Rides:
Most of our rides take 2 to 3 hours (including coffee) and cover about 20-25km at a moderate pace to suit those participating.
All cyclists welcome, especially first timers and beginners.
Contact Us if you are keen to join in any of these rides or just turn up at the designated start point (Information Centre or Kalmakuta drive) 5-10 minutes before ride time.
We look forward to seeing you on a ride
