Background
Let me start off by saying that my passion is Mathematics and Statistics; I am the nerdy student who buys textbooks and reads them for fun. I wasn't always like this. Growing up, it was a very difficult subject for me. It wasn't until my senior year of high school that it all "clicked" and I found that it truly was the most interesting subject. I was born in Boston, Massachusetts and my family moved to the south when I was a teenager. I have a twin brother and an older sister. I have two dogs: Calli and Bentley. Calli is a mutt who enjoys destroying things and Bentley is a beagle mix who enjoys eating and going potty in the house.
Education
I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2012 with a BS in Mathematics Education and then from Georgia State University in 2018 with a Masters in Statistics. I recently received my PhD in Biostatistics from GSU in 2022. I am currently the Elementary Statistics (MATH 1401) course coordinator.
Teaching Experience
I completed my student teaching at Clarke Central High School in the fall of 2012. I worked as a mathematics teacher at Northview High School from 2012-2016. I taught many different classes but I primarily taught AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics, and Advanced Mathematical Decision Making. While teaching, I was the Varsity/JV Basketball Cheerleading coach, Junior Class Council sponsor, and the 2016 Teacher of the Year.
Currently, I am a Lecturer in the Mathematics and Statistics department at GSU. The classes that I have taught or are currently teaching are:
Math 1070/1401 - Elementary Statistics
MATH 1101 - Math Modeling
PERS 2002 - Why Math Matters
MATH 2211 - Calculus I
MATH 2212 - Calculus II
MATH 2420 - Discrete Mathematics
MATH 3020 - Probability and Statistics for Computer Scientists
MATH 3030 - Mathematical Models in Computer Science
MATH 4544/6544 - Biostatistics
MATH 4751/6751 - Mathematical Statistics I
MATH 4752/6752 - Mathematical Statistics II
STAT 8581 - Statistical Theory I
STAT 8670 - Computational Methods in Statistics
I am also a substitute teacher in Fulton County where I primarily sub for mathematics teachers. On the weekends, I tutor Precalculus, AP Calculus AB/BC, and AP Statistics.

Interests
I am a huge Nintendo fan; my favorite game is The Legend of Zelda (all of them). I'm an avid traveler and my friends and I try to go on two trips a year. I am always up for an adventure: kayaking, hiking, whitewater rafting, etc.
