Welcome to my ePortfolio! For the past twelve years, I have been responsible for managing the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service's (TEEX) Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Program at Disaster City in College Station, Texas. I work with federal, state and regional US&R task forces to receive specialized search and rescue training, exercise development, and custom-based courses at Disaster City, the nation’s premier US&R training facility. In addition to working full time, I have also spent the last five years enrolled at The Bush School of Government and Public Service, where I have earned a Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security, a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management, and a Master of Public Service and Administration degree.
In 2013, I developed, submitted and secured for TEEX a five-year contract by FEMA to be the national training provider for the urban search and rescue teams within the National US&R System. I have managed that program since its inception, and my program has been directly responsible for updating training curriculum and providing training to the 5,600 members of the National US&R System from nineteen different states. This contract award has allowed me to be at the forefront of managing the upgrade, organization and enhancement of the training curriculum and to directly supervise the course deliveries that the FEMA US&R System has long envisioned. During this time, I have also organized, coordinated and planned US&R exercises and customized training for regional, state and military search and rescue teams at Disaster City and at remote training sites across the country.
