Zoe Lewis headlines the opening show of Braintree Folk’s 7th season. Zoe is truly one of a kind - an accomplished musician through and through, fusing musical styles on a variety of instruments - from the piano to the spoons! She possesses a superb and wacky sense of humor that shines through her performances. Originally from England, Zoe has lived in Provincetown for the last 28 years. She travels nationally and internationally and has toured with Judy Collins, the Indigo Girls, Richie Havens and Nanci Griffiths. Affectionately known as “A band in a body,” Zoe will totally entertain you, leave you with a smile and send you home in a joyous mood!
"She stormed the main stage playing everything from swinging folk and Latin jazz to acoustic funk and sprightly Celtic flavoured tunes. Her boundless energy was hard to ignore."
OTTAWA XPRESS, Canada
"A masterful combination of song, performance and artistry with a contagiously positive attitude and free spirit. Probably one of the most the most charismatic performances I've ever seen."
-BAY GUARDIAN, San Francisco, CA
Barbara Phaneuf opens. A gifted composer, guitarist, and singer who shifts easily between ‘50’s-style country pop, sprite folk tunes, acoustic swing, and torchy blues ballads. She is a versatile veteran of the coffeehouse scene and a consummate craftsperson of acoustic guitar-based songs. Barbara hails from the Southcoast region of Massachusetts.
Enjoy the warm and inviting atmosphere of the Parish Hall at All Souls Church of Braintree (listed on the National Register of Historic Places). About "Braintree Folk at All Souls Parish Hall Coffeehouse"
"Braintree Folk at All Souls Parish Hall Coffeehouse" was established effective September 2013 to promote, support and sustain local musicians, singers and songwriters by hosting live, local events in our neighborhood.
All Souls' mission, "to come together as a community" is a perfect complement to Braintree Folk.
The name ~”Braintree Folk”~ not only evokes one of the many styles of music we present, it also speaks to “community”. Our goal is to search for exceptional musicians and singers who perform a host of genres, including contemporary folk, Americana, bluegrass, roots, and for good measure, rock, blues, jazz.
Braintree Folk plans for seasonal events to be held in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. All performances are held at "All Souls Parish Hall Coffeehouse" located at 196 Elm Street, Braintree.
The Parish Hall is handicapped accessible with easy Route 3 access from both North and South.
Ticket sale proceeds from each event help to support the musicians who entertain us;
balance proceeds go toward continuing operational costs for Braintree Folk and the Coffeehouse; Coffeehouse proceeds from the sale of bakery items, refreshments and organic, Fair Trade coffee benefit All Souls Parish Hall. Any remaining proceeds will benefit the All Souls general fund.
