We offer a number of brain teasers for mental exercises (Thumb/finger, Nose/Ear, Tummy/Head and Ears/Squat). The Lazy 8's are a part of the Brain Gym exercises, but also work for into the brain teasers as well. For safety purposes, please utilize a chair or table for balance.

1. Thumb & Index Finger
Cross-lateral activity which activates both sides of the brain
Instructions:
Participant will lift up thumb on one hand and point index finger on the other hand and then switch. It may be helpful to say, "You good" while doing the motions.
2. Nose and Ear
Cross-lateral activity which activates both sides of the brain.
Instructions:
Participant will cross arms and hold ear and nose, then switch to opposite side.
3. Cross Arm Squat
Cross-lateral activity which activates both sides of the brain.
Instructions:
Participant will cross arms and then squat down as far as possible.
4. Tummy & Head
Cross-lateral activity which activates both sides of the brain.
Instructions:
Participant will pat head with one hand and make a circle on stomach area with opposite hand. Then switch.
5. Lazy 8
The Lazy 8's are performed by tracing in the air a sideways figure eight using one or two hands. It can also be done with pen and paper.
Instructions:
Participant will body with a point at eye level which will be the midpoint of the 8. Then either on paper, chalk board or in the air, participant will begin tracing a sideways 8 pattern using one or two hands. The eyes will stay focused on the hands or writing utensil.
Activates the brain for:
Lazy 8's activate the brain for crossing the midline, enhances binocular and peripheral vision and increases eye muscle coordination especially in tracking objects.
