Department of Philosophy

Indiana University of Pennsylvania

I teach in the Philosophy Department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I received my PhD from the University of Maryland at College Park in 2005 and joined the faculty at IUP in 2006. I teach a range of philosophy courses, including Introduction to Philosophy, Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Human Nature, and Philosophy of Language. I also teach freshman and junior core courses at Cook Honors College.

My main research interests are in philosophy of mind and philosophy of psychology, with strong secondary interests in metaphysics. My current projects explore the nature of concepts and their relation to intuitions, rationality, and linguistic meanings. I also have longstanding interests in the metaphysics of properties, laws of nature, and mental causation.
