I teach in the Philosophy Department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I received my PhD from the University of Maryland at College Park in 2005, and spent a year at Union College in Schenectady, NY before arriving at IUP in 2006. I teach a range of philosophy courses, including Introduction to Philosophy, Contemporary Moral Issues, Philosophy of Mind, and Metaphysics. I'm also a faculty member at IUP's Cook Honors College, where I teach freshman and junior "core" courses.

My main research interests are in philosophy of mind and philosophy of psychology, with strong secondary interests in metaphysics. Current projects explore questions about the connections between concepts, rationality, and knowledge. I also have a longstanding interest in the nature of properties, laws, and mental causation.
