Boyu Li

I am an assistant professor at New Mexico State University. Prior to that, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Windsor, and the University of Waterloo, and a PIMS postdoctoral fellow at the University of Victoria, supervised by Marcelo Laca. In 2018, I completed my PhD in mathematics at the University of Waterloo, under the supervision of Kenneth Davidson.

My research interests include operator algebras related to semigroups and dilations of semigroup representations, and self-similar actions. I am currently the PI for an NSF grant (DMS-2350543).

I completed my M.Math in pure mathematics at the University of Waterloo in 2013; B.Math with majors in pure mathematics, combinatorics and optimization, and mathematical finance in 2012. I received Governor General's silver medal for obtaining the highest mark in the B.Math degree.
