I have lived in the Sherwood community for over ten years with the love of my life, my husband, and our three amazing kids.
I have been with the Sherwood Youth Cheerleading Program for six years now. I attend OCCA Coaches conference every year to keep my certification. I have coached all grade levels from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I am currently President of the Sherwood Youth Cheerleading Program and have been on the board for several years prior to that. I love working with the kids and parents, some would even refer to me as the "Cheer Mom" or the "Carpool Queen," of the program. I have hugged, witnessed, and wiped tears of joy and tears of sadness. I absolutely love being a coach and a board member with the SYC Program.
I have had a passion for cheer since my high school cheerleading days, making the varsity squad all four years, becoming Captain of the squad, and cheering in the Fiesta Bowl!
I hold a CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid License.
I cannot wait to get this season started with you fabulous parents and fabulous kids!
I have lived in Sherwood for thirteen years with my husband Charlie and our two children Gwynn (15) and Payton (13). We absolutely love the city of Sherwood and the amazing community we live in.
I wear multiple hats; I am first and foremost a mom and volunteer to my children’s school and multiple activities. I enjoy being involved in the community volunteering my time as the PAC president at Laurel Ridge Middle School.
I have spent most of my life involved in fitness related activities (starting with cheer and track in high school). My devotion, passion, and unwavering interest in all things health related has driven me to apply my knowledge and enthusiasm of diet and exercise to training clients as a Certified Personal Trainer. I incorporate my love for fitness into my coaching as cheerleaders are often overlooked as athletes. I integrate the “athlete” mentality into my coaching techniques.
I believe in the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and leading by example. I enjoy running, skiing, hiking with my family, and learning to mountain bike/road bike (I still get terrified EVERY time). I am continually trying multiple fitness avenues to expand my knowledge first hand so I can constantly be improving how I assist my clients and cheerleaders. I apply these techniques while creating new and fun ways for my cheerleaders to reach their goals.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Health Education from Western Oregon University. I am also an ACE certified personal trainer, certified in First Aid/CPR and continue to educate myself in cheer coaching techniques. I have attended the OCCA coaches conference for three years and it gives me an opportunity to obtain a wealth of knowledge, from building a strong cheer program to hip hop dances I can incorporate into my season.
I wear many hats but of all the things I do my favorite is spending time shaping the next generation. I am excited to coach this year and hope to make a positive impact in many athletes’ lives.
We moved to Sherwood about four years ago and have loved every minute of it. My husband, son (16) and daughter (12) are huge Sherwood sports athletes, fans and community supporters through coaching and volunteering.
This is my third year supporting the Sherwood Cheer program, previously helping the youth program. As a mother of a cheerleader, friend of coaches and supporter of all of our athletes, I understand the positive influence this sport has!
You may not see me regularly, but I am thrilled to support the team in various ways. Go Bowmen!
