I am a Senior Researcher at the Gheorghe Zane Institute for Economic and Social Research, Romanian Academy, Iasi Branch. I earned my Diplom-Volkswirtin degree from the University of Mannheim in 2008 and completed my PhD in Applied Microeconomics and the Economics of Education at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, Romania. I joined the Gheorghe Zane Institute in 2009, after previously working as a Research Assistant in the “Labour Markets and Social Insurance” department at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim, Germany.
My research examines contemporary economic and societal challenges, with a focus on the economics of education, migration, policy impact evaluation, and the broader domains of wellbeing and health. I specialize in applying advanced statistical and econometric methods to identify causal effects, aiming to generate evidence that supports effective policy-making and contributes to societal progress.
