Perhaps too personal for public access?
Volunteer Name (someone who does not want to be found on the Internet may object)
However, some voluneers might want to use this page as part of a resume package, portolio etc. Perhaps it is possible to have names display only when viewed from within the free geek building (IP address range).
Eligibility for freek box (worst case, someone identifies volunteers who are eligible and solicits them.)
Date of last computer reward. (useful for volunteers, but similar to the above)
donations history (doesn't seem appropriate, donors may expect a level of anonymity.)
Other features
Introduce/promote milestone rewards! 24 hours gets a freek box, 500 hours gets a t-shirt, additional t-shirt every 1000 hours. ,
incremental thrift sop discount? free hard drive magnet at 100 hours...
FG Certifications
classes taken, special training, tests completed, whatever is in the database.
hours volunteered could link to a graph of the recent month or year showing volunteer hours over time, color coded by department
Include many interesting and relevant links to the wiki, this could be tool for guiding active volunteers to information and opportunities that they had not been aware of.
Include a table of collectible achievement icons for milestones, areas explored and certifications gained.
Resources required
A first step may be to identify how much of this can be extracted directly from the database as is.
( anything not currently in the database will probably not be worthwhile. )
Get official approval to make this information available on the web site.
Evaluate compliance and departures from: http://wiki.freegeek.org/index.php/Webadmin
Refine the design of this scorecard and any additional pages: ranking lists, community group roster or score cards.
Coding time, adding a script to the web site, complex database queries, progress bar and pie chart subroutines.
Create graphics for milestone achievements (gimp class volunteers?)
Inform volunteers of this fun new motivational tool.
It is also possible that if volunteers are monitoring their own hours they will need more front desk attention if they feel their has been a discrepancy.
