Pool and spa can be heated separately to your preference. Typical temperatures are 85degF for the pool and 100degF for the spa. There is a child safety fence that can be easily erected around the pool to keep out the small children and pets. (Note young children should not spend more than 10 minutes in the spa at high temperatures.)
