Below is brief information about Prof. Boisvert and his research group. To get more information on theese topics and others, use the links on the left pane.

Teaching

  • Prof. Boisvert usually teaches organic chemistry lecture and lab in the Fall (Chem 250) and Spring (Chem 251) semesters. From time to time, he also teaches an advanced elective course as well as an advising section in general chemistry labs (Chem 110). On the "Teaching" page, you can find some of his teaching material; a more extensive collection of his teaching material can be found on the Moodle pages of his courses.

Research

  • The Boisvert lab at the University of Puget Sound conducts research in organic and organometallic chemistry directed at developing and implementing more sustainable and efficient chemical processes. The main themes of our research are green chemistry and homogeneous catalysis. Most of the research is conducted during the summer, where 2-4 undergraduate students conduct research full time in the lab. During the Fall and Spring semesters, our research group usually involves 1-3 students conducting their Senior Thesis (Chem 490) and independent research (Chem 390). To learn more about our research and to reach useful chemistry and research information, use the links at the top.

Other

  • The Boisvert lab is also interested in the use of computers and technology in teaching and research and is interested, among others, in the use of computer programming, animations and Tablet PC's. More about this topic can be found by following the Computer stuff link at the top.
