About us

Blue Mountains Radio Players have been performing for about 30 years in venues around Katoomba in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia.

Inspired by Juliette Palmer-Frederick, the ranks of the Players have included professional and amateur actors, usually about a dozen in number.

Performances are before a live audience, using mainly scripts transcribed from original performances of the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.

The repertoire includes plays from such long-running drama series as Suspense, Escape and Quiet Please! ; episodes from the comedy series Easy Aces, Baby Snooks and Daddy and Life of Riley ; and crimes solved by Sherlock Holmes, Boston Blackie and The Thin Man.

The only concession to modern technology is the use of computer for sound effects and recording, due to limitations of space and manpower.

Performances are at the Palais Royale, 230 Katoomba Street, Katoomba where you can book and enjoy an overnight stay to prepare for the plays. For bookings phone 0421 887 284.
