In 2008, we entered the "Empty Nest" chapter of our lives - both of our children had graduated from high school and were well on their way to leading their own productive lives. Alicia and I found ourselves with an opportunity to buy an acreage which was a perfect fit in our eyes - an "out of town" feel, yet less than 15 minutes from downtown Lincoln; secluded, yet on paved roads; and a wonderful home with an abundance of established trees, pleasing flower beds - and a good-sized vegetable garden.
We've since enlarged the vegetable garden - we really do enjoy the time we spend together working amidst the produce we grow. Over time, we've come to refer to our property with the nickname "BluHen" - a combination of Alicia's maiden name (BLUmer) and Steve's last name (HENderson).
This simple website is intended to provide a glimpse of life at BluHen and to keep you informed about some of our recent adventures in life. We hope you enjoy it!
