In and around Ziro

Ziro is a valley on a plateau, making it a unique geographical entity and blessing it with a cool weather as well as a well-developed, centuries old agricultural practice unique to the Apatani tribe inhabiting the valley. The fish-cum-paddy agricultural system has become a case-study for many universities and lots of visitors and research scholars arrive at the valley to study what makes this practice so viable in the Ziro valley.

The Apatanis have a very rich social and cultural heritage and is showcased annually in the many rituals and customs which are observed according to an annual calendar.
