Meet the Director

Laura Helms was born and raised here in Bloomfield. She graduated from BHS in 2002 and went on to Indiana University where she majored in Choral Music Education. While at IU, she was founding Co-President of the IU chapter of the American Choral Directors Association and a member of the IU Singing Hoosiers, International Vocal Ensemble, Contemporary Vocal Ensemble, and the IU Jazz Ensemble. She graduated in 2007 and returned home to Bloomfield. She recently has completed her third and final level of training for her Kodaly certification. She loves working with so many amazing students every day. Mrs. Helms currently lives in Bloomfield with her husband, Jacob, two children, Wilson and Ellie, and dog, Max.
