1. Read your nutrition labels
2. Make a food diary with calories consumed that week
3. Decrease calories by 500-1000 calories
4. Use your exercise prescription
5. Expect 1-2 pounds of weight loss weekly
6. If you don't lose weight, your clothes should be getting looser
7. Follow a Mediterranean Diet
