Mario Bkassiny received the B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering with High Distinction and the M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the Lebanese American University (LAU), Lebanon. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico (UNM), Albuquerque, NM.
Dr. Bkassiny is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at SUNY Oswego, where he served as the Department Chair from 2023 to 2026. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Dr. Bkassiny served as the co-chair of the Communications and Signal Processing Symposium of the 16th International Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC 2020). He served as a reviewer for IEEE journals and as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member for various IEEE conferences. He also served as a Guest Editor of the Special Issue on Antennas and RF Front Ends for Cognitive Radio in the International Journal of Antennas and Propagation.
