Wedding Arbor

Scaighagh wanted to have an arbor for our wedding. We had different views on the wood needed and joining. Finally she said I could do it my way. I do not believe she had faith in how sturdy it would be. I just did not want to have to haul the weight of heavier lumber.

It is built from 1x6 pine. All connections are mortise and tenon and held with pegs. It was down to the wire thanks to life getting in the way but I think it looks pretty good. We will add more carving and weather treat it and use it again for something.

It served its purpose very well.
